Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay thai fighter, mixed martial artist, and fights in the UFC flyweight division. She is the elder sister of the fellow UFC fighter and an earlier UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sports career by becoming an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko did well in the competition and beat Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an one-sided decision. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a second medal in 2007, winning a bronze in 2008, winning gold in 2011 she was named the 2017 IFMA World Amateur Muay Thai Champion. Antonia's professional career began in 2003. In 2012, she was the winner of an event called the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, she took home the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 she won the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was victorious by unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut took place in 2002, in the KFK cup of Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She was victorious through TKO at the end of second round. She was able to take home two more fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA in order to focus on her kickboxing, and she made her comeback in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko took the victory over Anissa Haddaoui with a unanimous decision. She defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by the same decision. She left the club and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina's superior strike skills enabled her to TKO Nievera via knees in the body. The result was that Antonina was awarded a UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters' Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious through a unanimous win, however she fell in her second fight with Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina bounced back from losing to defeat Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned an extra fight in the night for this fight. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski, however she lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee.
