Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her professional title Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist associated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her EP Pho. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In the year 2015, she performed in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. The announcement that she would sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut album on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer to J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was followed by a video in September. Then, on the 9th of November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November, 13, she released two additional singles entitled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed with Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. The track was released as a standalone single in February 2019, to coincide with her debut album. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views via YouTube in its first seven days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
